Your primary responsibility will be to build strong working relationship with our clients so that you can coordinate the activity of a highly specialised squad of system architects. Working with our client you will be responsible for the re-architecture of core components. The success of this role will be demonstrated through;

  • Measurable improvements in developer productivity
  • System scalability and maintainability
  • Internal and external system users’ ability to self-serve

You will understand and manage the risks of making changes to core system components. Ensuring that the solutions arrived at can be fully adopted by our clients’ developers and customers. The changes need to be fully documented and implemented and then evaluated for success. You will evangelise about the new capabilities, have a genuine desire to see them adopted and ensure they have had the desired impact.




  • Agree and prioritise the backlog for delivery
  • Risk based analysis for solution design
  • Pragmatic route to implementing the rearchitected components
  • Ensure documentation, training guide and code snippets are in place for all developments
  • A set of metrics to track the successes of the project and adoption by the developers and self- serve user groups





Background / experience

The successful Product Owner must have:

  • line management of squad (6 people) coaching, developing, evaluating the team
  • Client facing / consultancy environment – proven ability to manage external stakeholders
  • Ability to gain clear requirements from client
  • Understanding of the commercial realities and the need to get things done
  • Proven expertise of working in successful squad development environment
  • Knowing the skills of the team and matching skills to the tasks
  • Ownership and accountability for your own workload and communication of updates
  • Understand microservice architecture preferably within AWS
  • Experience of Agile, preferably Kanban, Agile culture, focused on quality and continuous improvement
  • Understanding of the complexities of system re-architecture
  • Experience writing quality tickets and managing them through to delivery


  • Knowledge of energy industry
